Instructions for Dewalt-30 Reciprocating Saw

The Dewalt-30 reciprocating saw mimics the cutting action of a manual hacksaw. The blade attached to the reciprocating saw moves in a back and forth motion to cut through materials such as wood, wall board and metal. The reciprocating saw is a hand-held tool that requires a bit of effort on your part to complete the cut. However, in renovating a home you will find many uses for this type of saw.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull up on the blade clamp release button located on the right front of the saw.

    • 2

Insert the shank of the blade into the front of the saw. The teeth of the blade face downward.

    • 3

Push the blade clamp release lever downward to lock the blade into place.

    • 4

Place the base of the saw, which is located on the end of the saw that has the blade protruding from it onto the work surface you plant to cut. It is important that the base of the saw be solidly planted onto the surface of the cutting material to avoid kick-back from the saw.

    • 5

Position the saw so it does not quite touch the work material and then pull and hold the trigger on the saw. This starts the reciprocating motion.

    • 6

Push the saw blade into the work surface with enough pressure to keep the saw blade cutting, but not hard enough to deflect the saw blade or cause the saw blade to bend side to side.
