Paslode PowerMaster Operating Instructions

The Paslode PowerMaster is a pneumatic strip nail gun that performs high-volume nailing especially suited for framing applications in new construction. The PowerMaster drives 2-inch to 3.5-inch, strip-fed nails into engineered lumber like decking, sheathing, framing and trusses. It drives up to 12 nails per second and its magazine holds two strips of nails for a total capacity of 84 nails. The PowerMaster requires a compressed air source rated at 80 to 120 p.s.i.

Instructions

  1. Loading Nails

    • 1

Pull the follower in the nail magazine all the way back to its limit and latch it.

    • 2

Insert a strip of nails into the magazine with the point of the nails facing toward the nose of the nailer.

    • 3

Press the follower latch to release it and slide the follower forward until it contacts the nails.

    Precision Nailing

    • 4

Place the work contacting element at the precise spot for nailing and press it firmly against the working material until the work contacting element is fully depressed.

    • 5

Squeeze the trigger once to drive the nail.

    • 6

Move the nailer to the next spot and repeat the procedure.

    Successive "Bounce" Nailing

    • 7

Squeeze the trigger and hold it in the fully squeezed position.

    • 8

Move along the surface of the working material at a fast pace, bouncing the work contacting element at each point where you wish to drive a nail.

    • 9

Release the trigger after driving the desired number of nails to avoid unintentional nail discharge.

    Adjusting Depth of Drive

    • 10

Loosen the lock nut on the work contacting element of the nailer with a 3/8-inch open end or 5/32-inch hex socket wrench.

    • 11

Move the work contacting element down to correct for overdriving, where the head of the fastener is being driven below the surface of the working material.

    • 12

Move the work contacting element up if the heads of the fasteners protrude and are not flush with the surface of the working material.

    • 13

Re-tighten the lock nut on the work contacting element.

    Clearing Jams

    • 14

Disconnect the supply of compressed air.

    • 15

Release the latch that secures the front guide. Pivot the front guide away from the nailer.

    • 16

Remove the jammed nail and push the driver blade upward into its normal position.

    • 17

Close the front guide and secure the latch.
