Locate all of the seams that are ripped or torn. Pull away as much of the loose seam as possible. Peel it back by hand, and do not be afraid to pull up too much. Continue pulling until you find the end that is still properly glued to the floor.
Open up a bottle of carpet seam adhesive and pop off the tab. Squirt a thin bead of the seam adhesive on the back of the ripped seam, starting at the end closest to the side that is still glued down.
Move along the entire ripped seam. Hold it up in the air while the adhesive is being applied. Apply the adhesive to the floor underneath where the seam will be placed. Run a similar sized bead over the entire area.
Press the rug seam back down into place and run your hands over the entire area so the adhesive can adhere to the floor and rug. Move back and forth and press down firmly on the rug.
Smooth out the bulges and bubbles under the rug and move on to the next seam. Repeat the process for any other seams necessary.
