How to Repair Kraftmaid Cabinet Doors With the Hinge Screws Pulled Out

Kraftmaid kitchen cabinets are quality cabinets and are popular among many people. However, even the door hinge screws on quality cabinets like Kraftmaid can work their way loose and pull out of the frame. Over time and with use, this is bound to happen, especially if there are children in the home. Repair detached hinge screws with replacement screws and a Phillips screwdriver.

Things You'll Need

  • Wood replacement screws, 1/4" longer than original screws
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Assistant (optional)

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the Kraftmaid cabinet door to the frame and align the hinge screw holes to the screw holes in the frame. This is accomplished more easily with the help of another person.

    • 2

Insert the screws through the hinge screw holes and thread them into the holes in the frame by hand. Ensure that the screws are threaded straight into the holes. Install the top screw on each hinge first to help hold the door in place. Insert the other screws through the remaining holes in the hinge and into the frame.

Tighten the screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten the screws but ensure they are snug. The longer screws will drive deeper into the frame and anchor into solid wood. This will secure the hinge of the Kraftmaid cabinet door.
