The Differences Between a Bosch 1587AVSP and a 1587AVSK

Unlike traditional saws that are made to cut in straight lines, jigsaws are specifically designed to cut curves and shapes into metal, wood and other materials. They use thin blades with varying grades of teeth to cut simple or complex patterns. The Bosch 1587AVSP and 1587AVSK can be used for large projects, such as fence and wall accents, or smaller projects, such as doors and furniture.
  1. Features

    • The 1587AVSP and the 1587AVSK have very similar features. They have a 5-amp motor that can handle 500 to 3,100 strokes per minute, a multi-direction T-shank blade clamp mechanism, a variable speed control dial and an adjustable, die-cast aluminum footplate. They also are both designed with a tool-free blade change system, low position roller guide and a three-position dust blower.

    Accessories

    • Though the saws can use similar blades, the 1587AVSP comes standard with more blade accessories than the 1587AVSK. While the 1587AVSK includes blades for precision wood work as well as quick wood projects, the 1587AVSP comes with these as well as several others. These include blades for scrollwork as well as blades that can handle sharp lines and edges in hardwood and wood, a blade designed for fine lines in wood and metal and a blade specifically for working with laminates.
