Clean the closet door rail with the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner. Dust and debris in the rail can cause the door to stick. Too much dirt accumulation can cause the door roller mechanism to jump its track.
Tighten the door rail to the wall or ceiling using a screwdriver. If a screw head is protruding, it can catch on the door roller and cause the door to catch. If a screw doesn’t seem to be holding on to anything, replace it with a longer screw.
Raise or lower the door. Each of the door rollers might have an adjustment mechanism. Turn the screw left to lower the door, right to raise it. Only turn the adjustment screw one-quarter turn at a time. Check the door’s operation. If the door doesn’t have an adjustment mechanism, loosen the screws that hold the door rollers. Move the door up or down, as necessary, to resolve the problem.
Loosen the floor guide with a screwdriver if the door is catching on it. Move it forward or backward slightly and see whether that solves the problem. Most guides have slot-shaped holes that allow you to make this adjustment without re-drilling the holes for the guide. Tighten the floor guide back to the floor.
