Hanging a Picture Frame Using a Wall Hook

Hanging a picture frame requires a hook of some kind to act as an anchor in the wall. The wire on the back of the frame is then set on the anchor to hang the picture. A wall hook, which has a threaded end that can be screwed into the surface, can be used as an anchor.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine where you wish to hang the picture. Slip the wall hook under the picture wire on the back of the frame. Set the hook and the picture frame against the wall. Adjust the hook's placement on the wall as necessary until the picture frame is in the desired position. Make a mark on the wall with a pencil to indicate where the hook needs to be placed.

    • 2

Drill a small hole in the wall at the point you marked in Step 1. Make sure the hole is smaller in diameter than the screw threads on the wall hook.

    • 3

Screw the wall hook into the hole.

    • 4

Set the picture wire over the hook. Slide the picture frame to the right or the left to straighten it.
