Place groupings of framed pictures along the ledges in your hallway. Group the pictures according to themes such as childhood vacations, school pictures, summer camp, picnics, sporting events or parties.
Display a collection of old cameras and separate lenses in between the picture groupings to show off a photography hobby.
Add old camera film containers and lay out old, unframed snapshots on the ledges of the hallway.
Intersperse small, framed mirrors among the photos to reflect the light in the hallway so that people passing through can clearly see your collection.
Lay some movie posters picture side down on a flat surface. Peel the backing away from some adhesive poster strips, and apply a poster strip to each corner of the posters. Hang the posters just above the ledge in your hallway by pressing each poster strip securely onto the wall.
Place old, empty film reels and their cases on the ledge surrounded by popcorn boxes or buckets. Add boxes of movie candy and old movie ticket stubs to the display.
Put items in the display that indicate your movie genre interests. For example, if you like horror films, add a monster mask to the display. If you have an avid interest in detective films, display a magnifying glass.
Paint an airstrip mural on the wall where you will hang your small ledges. Paint the wall with grey paint. Add two white solid lines to mark the outline of the airstrip, and paint a white broken line down the middle of the airstrip. Add a row of 6-inch white lines to demarcate a holding position or threshold on the airstrip. Add an airstrip number in bright yellow paint.
Mark on the wall where you would like to install your small L-bracket ledges. Install them at different heights for visual interest. Drill guide holes for the screws. Place each ledge on the wall, and thread the screws through the holes on each L-bracket. Tighten the screws with a screwdriver.
Tug gently on each ledge to ensure that it is mounted securely on the wall, and then place some model airplanes on each ledge.
Add a shadowbox to one ledge, and fill it with small model airplanes.
