How to Drape Windows in the Corner of a Room

Window treatments provide both form and function, dressing up the interior of a space and allowing for light control. Hanging two separate curtain rods on windows placed in a corner of a room can result in an awkward and cramped appearance. The solution is to leave off the finials from one end of each rod and to connect them with a corner rod connector.

Instructions

    • 1

Twist the screw ends of a corner curtain rod connector into the ends of two curtain rods to form a 90-degree angle.

    • 2

Install curtain rod brackets at the desired height according to the manufacturer’s bracket mounting instructions. Mount the inside corner brackets at least one foot from the inside of the corner to allow room for the curtain.

    • 3

Insert one end of the curtain rod through the curtain pocket and slide the curtain along the rod so the corner connector is in the center of the curtain. Slide an additional panel onto both ends of the rod.

    • 4

Lift the rod and curtains up and into the mounting brackets. Adjust the curtain panels so the corner panel covers the inside corner window trim on both windows and the outside curtains just cover the opposite side window trims.
