How to Connect a Corner Curtain Rod

When you have windows that line corners, you will need curtain rods that span the corners. Connect a corner curtain rod with brackets on each side of the corner and one or two brackets in the center at the corner. With secure fastening, the brackets will support the corner curtain rods and hold the curtains in beautiful, attractive style.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine the placement of the brackets for the curtain rods by measuring about 3 to 4 inches above the top of the window with the tape measure. Draw marks with the pencil to install one bracket at the right corner, one at the left corner and a bracket immediately before and after the corner.

Install the brackets by positioning the bracket mounts on the wall over the marks. Screw in the mounting hardware that came with the rod. Use hollow wall anchors if you cannot locate studs in the wall, and standard drywall screws if you locate studs.

    • 3

Assemble the curtain rod before installing it on the brackets. Fit end caps on the outside ends of the curtain rod, clicking them firmly into place. Attach the two curtain rods together with the corner connector, fitting one end of the connector into the right rod and the other end of the connector into the left rod. Push the connector firmly into place until it clicks.

Place the curtains on the assembled curtain rod, sliding them along the rod evenly. Attach the curtain rod to the brackets by snapping the ends of the rods onto the prongs on the brackets. The brackets at the inside corner merely support the curtain rod underneath without snapping into place.
