How to Attach a Mounting Board for Roman Shades

Traditional Roman shades use a mounting board called a batten to attach the Roman shade to the window. This batten can be mounted inside the window casing or above and outside on the window trim. Typically the batten is mounted inside when possible to present the cleanest and most pleasing appearance. When the batten is mounted outside, it may be necessary to attach a decorative valance to the batten to cover the wood. This is an additional expense.
