Select a curtain that matches the dimension of your wall and electric drape controller. A red curtain is traditional in cinemas, but if you go this route, ensure it is a dark red color. Light and bright colors will reflect light, which may cast a haze over your screen.
Place the drape controller rail over the screen area where you intend to mount it.
Place a level under the rail and adjust it accordingly. Mark the area where you intend to mount the rail.
Drill the mounting screws into the rail to secure it to the wall.
Hang the curtain from the hooks on the rail. Hang the curtain the way you would like it to open. For example, if you want the curtain to open as it does in a cinema, you would need two halves of curtains that open from the middle. You can set most electronic drape controllers to open from the side or center.
Attach the wall controller panel (if one is included) near the curtain using the mounting screws.
Locate the remote control or wall-mounted control pad that came with the motorized drape controller.
Locate the "Function" or "Set" buttons on your controller to select the setting.
Press the buttons on the controller that correspond to how you would like to set the curtains. You can set them to open from the side or from the center.
Press the "Timer" button on the controller to set a timer. This can be done if you have regular times that you are in the room and don't want to manually open the curtains.
Press the "Open" or "Close" buttons on the controller to perform the functions you desire.
