How to Hang Multiple Waterfall Valances

Waterfall valances usually are made with light, flowing material that drapes nicely. Waterfall valances have an opening in the top and bottom for a rod to be slipped through. When hung, the valances drape across your window, creating a unique look and resembling that of an upside-down rainbow or water ripples. Waterfall valances are elegant window treatments that may be used with or without a drape.

Instructions

    • 1

Mark both sides of your window frame where you want the curtain rod to be mounted, using a measuring tape and pencil. Hold a level from one mark to the other to ensure the marks are level.

    • 2

Attach the brackets to the marks on the window frame using the coordinating hardware and a cordless screwdriver.

    • 3

Separate the curtain rod into two pieces, if applicable. Using the larger of the two pieces, wrap the end with masking tape to cover any jagged edge when threading the curtains. This prevents snagging of your valances.

    • 4

Thread the curtain rod through the top of the first valance. Push the valance snugly together. Thread the curtain rod through the top of the second valance. Push the second valance snug against the first.

    • 5

Thread the curtain rod through the bottom of the first valance. Push the valance snugly together. Thread the curtain rod through the bottom of the second valance. Push it snug against the first.

    • 6

Bunch the curtains together to gain access to the taped end and remove the masking tape.
Slide the smaller portion of the curtain rod inside the larger side of the curtain rod.
Hang the curtain rod on the brackets. Spread the curtains out to cover the entire rod.
