Corrugated Wall Panel Installation

Corrugated wall panels are also called corrugated siding and have a rippled or ridged appearance. The panels consist of plastic or rust-resistance metal and are also used as a roofing material as well as for walls. Installing corrugated wall panels is best done on sheds, greenhouses and on industrial or commercial buildings. The process involves simply overlapping the wall panel ridges and then securing the panels firmly to the underlying frame of the structure.

Instructions

    • 1

Walk all the way to the left side of the building and place the first corrugated panel horizontally on the wall, aligning it with the left corner. Raise the panel up to 12 inches above the ground, which is the location of the required base material, such as brick or treated wood.

    • 2

Secure the corrugated panel to the underlying wall studs by pre-drilling 3/4- to 1-inch deep holes using a 1/4-inch drill bit. Place the holes along the top and bottom edges of the panel. Insert a 1-inch 300 series stainless steel screw into each hole, and tighten it with a power drill.

    • 3

Place another panel directly above the first, overlapping the bottom edge of the second with the top ridge of the first. Secure the second panel with additional 300 series stainless steel screws.

    • 4

Continue installing the panels all the way up to the roof line in the same manner. Then install each subsequent vertical row in the same manner until covering the entire building exterior. Overlap each row by 3 to 4 inches

    • 5

Seal the vertical seams that occur between each vertical row using butyl caulking and running a 1/4-inch bead all the way down the seam.

    • 6

Walk to one of the corners of the building and insert a V-shaped corner flashing over the corner aligning the bottom of the flashing with the bottom of the lowest panel. Secure the flashing using stainless steel screws at the locations of the underlying studs. You will need to pre-drill holes just as you did with the panels. Work your way up the wall until reaching the top. Install flashing on each remaining wall corner.
