Determine the length of wire system you require. Use the tape measure to determine the distance from one side of the window to the other.
Mark the positions for the brackets you'll use to install the wire system on the right and left sides of the window using the pencil. Care should be taken when you use the step ladder to access the window. The wire system has to be centered over the window. It should extend about 4 or 6 inches beyond either side of the window.
Place a bracket base over the spot you marked on the right side of the window. The center of the bracket base should be over the spot. Repeat this step for the left side of the window.
Mark mounting holes on the right side of the window. This should be done through the bracket base holes. Repeat this step for the left side of the window.
Drill the mounting holes you have marked on both sides of the window.
Insert temporary anchors on the mounting holes on both sides of the window.
Mount the brackets. Secure them using screws.
Slip the wire system through the grommets on your drapes. Begin with the left side of the first drape and pass the wire system through each grommet. Repeat this step for the second drape.
Insert the right end of the wire system in the right anchor post and fasten it using the screws.
Pass the left side of the wire through the left anchor post. Trim off any excess wire before you pull the wire taut and fasten it.
Close the drapes and confirm the width and length are appropriate.
