How to Fold Louvered Blinds

Louvered blinds cover your windows with horizontal slats. You can tilt the slats to allow light into the room or block it out, as well as fold the blinds up so that you can see directly out the window. If the slats aren't in exactly the right position, you will have a hard time folding the louvered blinds up.

Instructions

    • 1

Twist the slats on the blinds so that all are parallel with the windowsill. Typically, your blinds will have a thin stick attached to the top. Twist this to adjust the angle of the slats. Other versions may have a string that you pull to adjust the angle.

    • 2

Pull the strings to fold the blinds up. If there are two strings, one controls the right side of the blinds and one controls the left. You must pull these at the same time so that both sides lift together. Keep pulling until the blinds are folded to the desired location.

    • 3

Lock the strings into place. Move the strings slightly to the left or right to catch the locking mechanism in the blinds. Gently let the strings go to be sure that it's locked. Otherwise, the blinds could come crashing down.
