How to Frame a Bathroom Mirror Without Removing the Metal Clips

If your bathroom mirror is held to the wall using metal clips, you may be tired of looking at them. While the metal clips hold the mirror firmly in place, they have an industrial look you may not want when you redo the room the mirror is in. If you want to frame a bathroom mirror, but you do not wish to remove the clips, use pre-finished wood trim to give your mirror an elegant appearance. Because the metal clips are flat, the wood trim can be mounted directly over them.

Glass cleaner
Soft cloth
Measuring tape
Saw
Miter saw
Clear two-part epoxy

Instructions

  Clean the mirror with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.

  Measure the edges of the bathroom mirror using a measuring tape.

  Use a saw to cut four pieces of pre-finished wood trim to the measurements you determined in Step 2.

  Set your miter saw to 45 degrees and bevel the edges of the wood trim. This allows the pieces to fit together like a wood frame.

  Apply a dime-sized dot of clear two-part epoxy to every metal clip on one side of the mirror.

  Press the corresponding piece of wood trim to the metal clips
- 7
  Repeat Steps 5 and 6 working your way around the edge of the mirror.

  Allow the epoxy at least 24 hours to cure.
