Glue a floral hook onto the back of the wreath. For heavy wreaths, glue up to five hooks in place. Imagining the wreath as a clock, the hooks should be at 12:00, 2:00, 4:00, 8:00 and 10:00. If you only want to use three hooks, eliminate the hooks closest to the base of the wreath.
Hold the wreath in front of the door at the elevation at which you want it to hang, and measure the distance from the bottom of the wreath to the top of the door.
Cut a length of ribbon four times the measured length. For example, if it is 3 feet from the bottom of the wreath to the top of the door, cut a length of ribbon that is 12 feet.
Tie one end of the ribbon to the hooks, starting with the bottom hook on one side. Wrap the ribbon through the upper hooks, and tie a knot around each one, covering the hook.
Tie the other end of the ribbon around the center hook, and then down through the side hooks. Trim any excess ribbon. When you are finished tying the ribbon, you will have a loop at the top.
Place the suction cup on the inside of the door at the same height as the top of the wreath. Point the hook on the suction cup downward.
Hold the wreath in place on the front of the door, wrap the ribbon flat over the door, and place the loop around the hook on the suction cup. Adjust the height of the suction cup as necessary to achieve the desired height for the wreath.
