Bamboo blinds are an attractive, affordable window treatment. However, they are somewhat see-through and allow sun in. You may want to add privacy by attaching a privacy liner to the back of the blind. This will block curious eyes, darken the room and increase the insulating properties of the room. You can add a privacy liner yourself for minimal cost. Choose a fabric that coordinates with your room and isn't too overwhelming from the outside. When view from the exterior, the liner is all that will be visible.

Instructions

1
Measure the length and width of the blind while it is lying on a flat surface.
-
2
Cut your privacy liner to fit the measurements using a straightedge, such as a yardstick, and sharp scissors. Hem the edges with a one-quarter-inch hem. This also makes the overall liner one-quarter-inch shorter on each edge, so it can't be seen behind the blind.

3
Apply a seam of polyvinyl acetate glue to the blind one-half inch from the edge of the blind.
-
4
Press the liner in place on the blind and allow it to dry for several hours. Rehang the blind.
