Ideas for a Hallway Wall

Hallway decorations provide a great opportunity to create a focal point in your home that reflects your personality and style. Brighten your hallway walls with a variety of decoration ideas. Whether you have a short hallway or long hallway, all you need is creativity, some imagination and a few supplies to get started creating a design that will leave your guests with a lasting impression.
  1. Quotes

    • Wall quotes are available online and at some retail stores. The quotes come in vinyl letter stickers that adhere to the wall. Some quote ideas include: “Live every moment, laugh every day, love beyond words,” “The best things in life aren’t things,” “There is no place like home” and “Memories, keep them alive even after they are gone.” Use a tape measure and laser level to get the quote straight on the wall. Another idea is to paint the quotes on the wall. Use acrylic paint and letter stencils to paint the letters on the wall.

    Photographs

    • Hanging photographs in the hallway is a great way to show off your family. Framed photographs of family members are the perfect way to catch your guests’ attention. Stick with a certain theme, such as a vintage theme or black-and-white theme. Have all the pictures printed in a vintage or sepia color with brown photo frames. Another idea is to print all the pictures in black-and-white and put them in black photo frames. Alternatively, use all color pictures in a variety of different frames.

    Artwork

    • Artwork comes in a variety of sizes, shapes and prices. Some artwork options available include acrylic paintings, stretched pieces of fabric and metal sculptures. Arrange the artwork on the hallway walls for decoration. Another idea is to hang artwork on the walls similar to the way an art gallery would hang art, which gives the art a more sophisticated look. You can also use your children’s artwork. Frame artwork and drawings from home or school to hang on the walls for decoration.

    Mirrors

    • Mirrors also come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Go with a funky look by hanging bold-framed mirrors, such as zebra print, leopard and bright colors. Hang the mirrors in a pattern down the hallway. For another look, try a classy or formal look by hanging silver- and gold-framed mirrors in the hallway. Mirrors can also make a narrow hall feel larger by bouncing light around the hall.
