How to Install a Bamboo Window Sliding Panel

Instead of curtains, sliding bamboo shades are an alternative cover for glass doors or windows. Not only do they look elegant and natural as home décor, they also slide on a track installed above your window for easy operation. Best for homes with an understated or Asian design scheme, bamboo sliding shades are simple to install on your own with a few tools found around the house.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the studs above your window with the stud finder and mark them with the pencil.

    • 2

Attach the L-shaped brackets to the wall with the drill and a screw into the studs. Install the brackets 5 inches above the top of the window. Install four brackets over the window, one on each side and two in the middle.

    • 3

Place the head rail under the brackets and turn the notch on each bracket to lock it to the track in the head rail.

    • 4

Snap the panels into the tracks on the underside of the head rail. Each panel will have it’s own track.

    • 5

Place the tension cord pulley against the wall next to the window. Use the drill to attach the pulley to the wall.
