Measure the opening of the doorway and make any necessary adjustments with the reciprocating saw so that the door will fit perfectly within it. Position the various sections of the door frame against the doorway and position the included stud anchors level with each predrilled hole. Attach the anchors to the studs of the doorway by drilling through them with 3-inch wood screws.
Set each of the four hollow jambs of the door frame in place against the anchors, push them firmly in place. Hammer them in if necessary using a wooden block between the hammer and the jamb to soften the blows. Repeat this process to attach each of the four jambs.
Hold the carpentry level against each section of the doorway and make any necessary adjustments to make sure the door is level. Set shims between the door frame and the doorway, and hammer them in place to make the door frame level.
Set the door in place within the frame and make any adjustments necessary for a good fit of the door. Position the door hinges over the predrilled holes in the frame and drill the hinges into the frame using 3-inch wood screws. Open and close the door to make sure that the door is straight and not encumbered by the frame due to friction. Adjust the spacing of the door frame or the position of the hinges to compensate for any problems.
