How to Adjust Uneven Frameless Glass Shower Doors

Frameless shower doors offer the illusion that there is no glass covering your shower, thus making your bathroom look larger. Hinges with a gasket hold the door in places, but over time, the glass may slide down or to the side, which could cause the glass to shatter if it is not set correctly. Adjust the frameless glass shower door so it lines up properly again to prevent it from shattering.

Instructions

    • 1

Ask an assistant to hold the shower door in place.

    • 2

Loosen the screws on the hinges using a Phillips screwdriver. Do not remove the screws.

    • 3

Slide the door slowly in the direction to which it needs to be adjusted.

    • 4

Step back from the door while your assistant is still holding the door, and view it to determine whether it is even.

    • 5

Continue to slide the door up, down or to the side until it is properly adjusted.

    • 6

Tighten the screws on the hinges until the door is secure. Do not over-tighten the screws, because that could shatter the glass.
