Apply paint over the wall so the odd-shaped window stands out. Use a paint roller to apply the paint in even strokes over the surface. Apply the color over the corners and edges around the window frame using a small paintbrush. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly before you apply a second coat of paint.
Apply decorative trim around the edges of the window frame to highlight the shape of the window and draw attention to its architectural detail. Attach painter’s tape over the wall in the desired depth of the trim, and use a small paintbrush to fill the gap in between with paint. Use paint that is a shade darker than the wall paint but lighter than the color you will apply over the window frame so the transition is smooth and uniform. Carefully pull the tape off when the paint dries.
Paint the window frame a bold color to make it stand out, serving as a focal point in the room you want to accentuate. Use a small brush to reach crevices, corners and edges of the frame.
Mount lambrequin over the window to highlight its shape and add a touch of elegance to the room. Fashioned into a variety of shapes, lambrequin curtains resemble a heavy cloth cornice extending across the top of the window and partially down each side. These window treatments are suitable for both straight and curved-edged windows, making them work well for odd-shaped windows. Cover the window treatment with a shade of fabric that complements the color of the wall and trim so it blends with the surrounding area and creates a cohesive style.
Mount a series of vertical mirror panels or frames on each side of the odd-shaped window to highlight the space and outline it. Space each vertical arrangement evenly apart from the window frame.
