How to Arrange a Dozen Roses

A bouquet of a dozen roses looks fantastic even without a fancy arrangement or a florist's touch. Roses, the queen of all flowers, are the star of the show, and their beauty will dwarf most attempts to integrate them into a mixed flower arrangement, so show off your roses with a simple arrangement in a crystal vase.

Things You'll Need

  • Leather or thick gardening gloves
  • Garden clippers
  • Elastic hair band
  • Crystal vase

Instructions

    • 1

Put a glove on your non-dominant hand, to protect it from the thorns on the rose stems. If the thorns have been removed, there is no need to use the glove for protection.

    • 2

Grasp all dozen roses as a bunch in your gloved hand.

    • 3

Observe the blossom part of the flowers. Adjust the height of the flowers so the ones in the center of the bunch are the highest, with the heights gradually lower towards the outside of the bouquet.

    • 4

Secure them with the elastic hair band when you have finished arranging the blossoms at various heights in a visually appealing manner. Place the hair band approximately where the top of the water will be in the vase.

    • 5

Cut the bottoms of the stems off at an angle, using the clippers. The angled cut will allow the roses to "drink" more water.

    • 6

Fill the vase with water, and insert the bound bouquet.
