Wash your vases or glass bottles using a mild dish detergent; be sure that you effectively remove any stuck-on price tags or paper labels. Rinse your vases to remove all soap residue. Before moving on to the next step of your project, allow your glass vases or bottles to air dry completely on a dish-drying rack or towel.
Lay the newspaper down on your work surface; be certain that you are working either outdoors or in a well-ventilated space. Working on this project outside on a workbench is ideal because you have well-ventilated space and will be able to ensure that the fallout from the spray paint doesn't affect your kitchen walls or counters.
Select spray paint that is suitable for use on glass. While the majority of quality spray paints will be ideal for your spray painting project, it is advisable to verify that your selected paints will provide the finish that you are looking for. Pick out your desired spray paint color and carefully spray an even coat of your paint over the surface of the glass bottle or vase.
Allow the first coat of paint to completely dry before proceeding with your next coat. Your project may require several coats, depending on the glass surface. For example, a glass vase that has a textured surface will require additional coats to ensure that all of the nooks and crannies are coated with the spray paint.
Allow all of your painted glass vases or bottles to dry thoroughly and then place a selection of fresh cut or silk flowers into them. Set them around your home to bring a bit of color and spring vibrancy into an otherwise colorless area in your home.
