Wash the glass flower pot with soapy water, thoroughly rinse it and let it dry.
Wipe a clean paper towel or rag dipped in rubbing alcohol over the pot's surface so the glass paint will adhere more strongly.
Tape the pattern or line drawing of the design on the inside of the glass pot with the design facing out. Paint a freehand design on the pot for a more free-spirited approach.
Place a layer of newspaper on the work area to protect it.
Squirt out glass paint onto a paper plate serving as a palette. Space each color two or more inches apart. Mix color varieties from the original squirts of paint with a paint brush.
Paint the design carefully with acrylic paint brushes, following the pattern on the inside of the flower pot. If you need to paint a second coat or overlap colors, wait until the first layer is dry, at least one hour.
Allow the painted design to completely dry. It may be one hour or up to 48 hours.
Place the glass flower pot in a cold oven, turn the oven on to 350 degrees F, and bake for the time indicted on the paint package, 15 to 30 minutes. Allow the pots to cool while remaining in the turned-off oven.
Fill the glass flower pot one-third full with small colored marbles, glass pebbles, rock, sand or hard candy like sour balls, cinnamon dots, candy corn or gumballs.
Place a small votive candle in a glass holder on top and in the center of the colored pieces.
Fill in the area between the candle and the flower pot sides with more colored pieces so only the top half inch of the candle shows.
