Instructions

    • 1

Take the mirror down from the wall. Lay it on a flat surface. Clean the mirror well with glass cleaner and let it dry thoroughly.

    • 2

Peel the backing from the contact paper. Place contact paper on the section of the mirror where you intend to stencil the frost pattern. Remove any bubbles from the contact paper.

    • 3

Find the stencil pattern you would like to use. Or you can draw your own pattern if you like. Cut out the part of the stencil that is going to be the frosted area.

    • 4

Place the stencil on top of the contact paper. Tape it in place. Draw the design from the stencil onto the contact paper with a pencil.

    • 5

Cut out the stencil's design on the contact paper with the craft knife. Be sure to leave the contact paper that you don't cut out in contact with the mirror. Reseal any edges that may come up.

    • 6

Prepare the frosting compound according to the package directions. Put on your safety glasses and rubber gloves. Open a window for good ventilation.

    • 7

Apply the frosting compound. Depending on the type of compound you purchased, you can brush it on with a brush, dab it on with a cotton swab or spray it on. Let the compound dry. Remove the contact paper and re-hang the mirror.
