DIY Window Stencil

Window stencils add a unique touch to your windows whether for your holiday or seasonal decor or an all year round exterior or interior design scheme. The options available for window stenciling are only limited by the size of your window. Although ready-made window stencils are abundantly available, making and applying your own custom window stencils can be simple, affordable and fun.

Instructions

    • 1

Print out a design you would like to use on your stencil and tape it to the clear stencil sheet.

    • 2

Cut around the design with the exacto knife, cutting through both the piece of paper and the clear stencil sheet.

    • 3

Take the paper off the stencil sheet and you will have your stenciled design.

    • 4

Clean the window until it is free of any dirt or debris. Let the window dry for at least five minutes.

    • 5

Tape the clear stencil with your cut out design onto the window where you would like the design to be.

    • 6

Paint the part of the window you can see through the stencil with your sponge paint brush.

    • 7

Let the paint dry for at least 60 to 90 minutes until it is completely dry to the touch.

    • 8

Remove the tape from the stencil and the window while holding the stencil in place.

    • 9

Carefully peel back the stencil sheet from the window to reveal your custom made window stencil.
