How to Hang a Decorative Rug on the Wall

Decorative rugs can add a lot of personality to any room. While most people only use them on the floor, hanging a beautiful rug on the wall can make a big statement in any room. Some rugs may be worth too much money to risk laying them on the floor and something getting spilled on them, so this is a good way to display them safely. The easiest way to hang rugs on the wall is with carpet tacks.

• Carpet tack strip
• Saw

     Determine where you plan to hang the rug. Measure and mark the position of the rug on the wall.

     Measure the rug and cut the strip to match, using a saw.

     Screw in the carpet tack strip along the top line of the marked spot on the wall.

     Ask someone to help and hold up one corner of the rug in place, while you hold the other corner. Push the top edge of the carpet along the strip, into the tacks, which will hold it in place.
