Instructions

    • 1

Allow the new finish on the hardwood floor to completely cure before placing rugs. Depending on humidity and type of finish, this can take up to seven days. Consult the manufacturer's instructions on the finish or a flooring professional to best determine when your floor is ready.

    • 2

Determine the best location to place the rugs on the refinished wood floor. The rugs should cover higher traffic areas to afford the refinished floors the best protection.

    • 3

Place non-slip vinyl rugs pads where you wish to place the rugs.

    • 4

Lay the rugs over the non-slip vinyl pads. Work carefully to ensure the rug is even.

    • 5

Arrange your furniture around or on top of the rugs. Lighter pieces of furniture, such as coffee tables, should be arranged on top of the rugs to avoid scratching the refinished wood floors.
