Instructions

    • 1

Shake your Mexican rug outside to get rid of surface dust and dirt.

    • 2

Bring the rug back inside, and vacuum it thoroughly.

    • 3

Apply stain remover to any stains that were not soaked up immediately at the time of the spill. Verify that the stain remover is appropriate for wool, and test it on a small part of the Mexican rug to be safe before proceeding.

    • 4

Take the rug outside, and spread it over a flat surface, such as a patio or deck.

    • 5

Wet down the Mexican rug with a hose, spraying both sides.

    • 6

Dilute a wool detergent with cold water in a bucket.

    • 7

Gently wipe the solution on the rug with a sponge until the suds disappear. Clean both sides of the rug.

    • 8

Rinse off both sides of the rug with a hose.

    • 9

Let the rug dry completely. Lay towels on the rug to help absorb the water, or place your Mexican rug over a drying rack.
