Clean your bearskin rug with a soft-bristled brush to remove any dust and debris.
Lay the rug so that the hair is facing down. Fold the front legs toward the middle to meet the back legs, which should also be folded in this manner. Fold the rug in half one last time, with the head and bottom touching.
Place the rug in a plastic storage container. Make sure that the container is airtight.
Insert a block of cedar wood in the storage container with the rug. This will keep moths and larvae from infesting the bearskin rug.
Keep the plastic storage container in a cool dry area until you are ready to use the rug again.
