Instructions

    • 1

Measure the length and width of your rug with measuring tape and jot down the measurements. Subtract at least an inch or two from each measurement to prevent the backing from being visible.

    • 2

Flip over your rug and size the rug pad to your rug. Depending on the size of your rug and the dimensions of the rug pad, you may need to trim down the rug pad with scissors.

    • 3

Apply hot glue to the perimeter of the back of the rug and firmly press the rug pad to the back of the rug. Allow the glue to dry while continually applying pressure. If needed, remove the old rubber backing or simply glue the new rug pad over the old one.

Clean the surfaces of the floor where the rug will be placed down and apply the rug. Test the rug and make sure there is no slippage. It's important to lay the rug down on a clean surface to improve the effectiveness of the rug pad. Dirt and debris could allow the rug to shift, even with the rug pad in place.
