How to Keep Carpet in One Place

The trouble with carpeting, or throw rugs, is that they often move around. At best, this can be an annoyance and at worst, a danger, since people can slip and fall if the carpet moves around. In order to keep the carpet in one place, you have to affix a rubber backing to its underside. Furniture and home goods stores sell rubber backing for this express purpose. The backing protects the rug from dirt underneath while keeping it still when someone walks over it.
