Take the flokati rug outside and shake loose any dust from the rug. Attach the brush attachment to your sweeper, and lightly go over the flokati rub to remove any remaining dust and dirt from the woven fibers.
Place a small flokati rug in the washer, or a bathtub if cleaning a flokati rug too large to fit in the washer. Fill the washer or tub with cool water and a mild soap made especially for wool fabric. Set the washer to the delicate cycle. Hand wash in the tub by swishing the rug through the soapy water. Rinse the rug in cool water until soap bubbles stop emerging from the rug. Squeeze excess water from the rug.
Set the rug outside in a shaded area such as a clothesline or porch rail to dry. Flip the rug every hour to ensure proper drying on both sides. Place the rug back into the home after completely dried.
Rake the rug with a clean wooden garden rake to restore fluffiness to the rug after cleaning.
