How to Place an Area Rug on a Wood Floor

Area rugs can add color and beauty to a room. Choose a style that will compliment the room's décor and serve the function that you desire. For example, an expensive antique rug would not work well in a dining room for small children. Area rugs can be purchased in specialty carpet stores or chain home improvement stores in a variety of shapes, colors, textures and fabrics. An area rug will protect wood floors from everyday wear while providing a pop of color to a room.
