Gather a collection of digital pictures of you and your friends. Look for shots of people being goofy or funny or make up your own funny comments that would fit the picture. Make a new folder on the computer for these photos and copy or move the photos into this folder for easy access later. Make a written list and identify each picture with a number or label. Write the funny quote or comment down on paper or in a word processing program next to the picture’s number or label to refer back to later if needed.
Make a list of funny one-liners to add to your funny accent wall. Look them up online and choose the ones you like or write down one-liners you have heard before or perhaps even made up yourself.
Prepare the photos for your humorous accent wall. Upload the photos into a free online editing program or one you may already have on your computer where you can add speech bubbles, thought bubbles or captions and print the edited photos to add to your background wall designs. Use photo paper for the best results.
Use contact paper to create a decorative background on the wall. Create any type of design, including a large bulletin board collage made from assorted colors or patterns, cool shapes such as stars, hearts and peace signs, skulls and cross bones, abstract designs or your own original designs. Use stencils or draw your designs freehand on the backing paper. Cut out your designs with sharp scissors or a utility knife. Peel off the backing paper and press the contact paper to the wall firmly. Smooth out wrinkles or bubbles with a plastic squeegee.
Use scissors to cut the dry erase material to the size you want, keeping it large enough to easily read your one-liner jokes. Write your one-liners on the material with dry erase markers after applying the material to the wall. Add your funny photos to the display. Attach the photos with a small amount of poster putty.
