How to Make a No Sew Pillow Cover

Whether piled on a bed, thrown on patio furniture or scattered across a chair or sofa, decorative pillows add appeal to any space. Changing out the pillows periodically keeps your decor looking fresh, but having a set of pillows for every season can get expensive though. Instead of spending much cash on pillows, make no sew pillow covers for an interesting and inexpensive change in decor.

Things You'll Need

  • Standard pillowcases
  • Rubber bands
  • Pillows
  • Decorative pins
  • Ribbons

Instructions

    • 1

Shop around for standard size pillowcases in colors and patterns you like.

    • 2

Buy ribbons in colors that coordinate with the pillowcases you chose.

    • 3

Wash, dry and iron the pillowcases.

    • 4

Push a square pillow down into the pillowcase, making sure one end is all the way at the bottom of the case. Bunch up the open end and secure it with a rubber band. Tie a ribbon over the rubber band.

    • 5

Place a long round pillow halfway into a pillowcase. Bunch each end and secure the ends with rubber bands. Tie a ribbon around each rubber band to cover.

    • 6

Pull a pillowcase inside out. Push a round pillow down into the pillowcase sideways, you should see a flat side of the pillow when you look down into the case. Gather the loose fabric up close to the pillow and secure with a rubber band. Open the end up and fold over pillow. Pull the loose ends together and secure with a decorative pin in the center of the pillow.
