Drape a throw over one of the bottom corners of your bed, almost like it was tossed on the bed like an afterthought. Make slight adjustments until it looks the way you like. Use a throw that matches a couple of decorative pillows or complements your bedding. A brightly colored or heavily patterned throw will perk up a plain duvet, and a solid throw will neutralize a duvet that features a busy pattern.
Cover part of a bench or chest at the end of the bed with your throw, instead of laying it on the bed. Roll up a couple of throws to display if your trunk or bench has open shelves.
Lay a throw over the back or arm of your sofa or chair to hide blemishes in your furniture or to add color and texture. For example, a plush throw would add warmth to a leather sofa. Draping the throw over your sofa or chair also keeps it within close range so it is easy to reach when you want to snuggle in it, while watching your favorite movie.
Fan out two or three throws over the edges of an ottoman to add color and design. Alternatively, roll a few throws up and arrange them under an open coffee table or in a large basket next to the sofa.
Decorating with throws allows you to play with colors or patterns that you do not want to commit to, such as adding lime green or snowmen to your decor. Decorating with throws also allows you to easily--and affordably--update your decor every season or as often as you would like, without too much expense.
Hang a decorative throw on the wall---such as a tapestry or work of art---if you want to cover a large space on your wall or simply show off a decorative throw. Frame it or use fabric adhesive to make a tab on the top and hang it on a dowel or curtain hanger.
Use a satiny throw as a scarf to complement your drapes or add a playful touch to your windows.
