Cute Things to Paint on Your Walls

Dress up your walls with cute accents that highlight the main theme in the room, or feature a few adorable additions that simply stand out amidst a basic or modern theme. Cute designs work well for a child's room, but you can also feature sweet animal images and other painted scenes in a guest room or your own bedroom. Decide if you want to create a few painted additions or to create a panoramic room filled with painted designs.
  1. Baby Reptiles

    • Feature a mural filled with baby reptiles in a guest or kid's bedroom. Paint a pond scene with little turtles, lizards, frogs and other critters in various places within the picture. Frog and turtle borders also work well in a room with pastel green walls and other similar accents. Paint little pink and purple bows on the reptiles if the room is for a little girl. Prehistoric reptiles such as cartoon-like dinosaurs also look sweet in a boy's room.

    Cute Bugs

    • Feature cute bugs in your room or in your child's nursery. A ladybug or butterfly border can look appropriate in a baby's room, or you may want to showcase dozens of ladybugs climbing up vines on one accent wall in your bedroom. Other bugs such as dragonflies and grasshoppers have an adorable appeal, especially set in a pond- or nature-themed room. A little girl may like to see large pink polka dots on her wall with tiny ladybugs and other critters inside.

    Cartoon Characters

    • Feature one or more of your favorite cartoon characters on your walls. Childhood favorites such as Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Betty Boop and Hello Kitty all have a cute look. Use stencils to draw the characters before panting, or hire an artist to make your vision a reality. A large Mickey Mouse on a red or yellow accent wall in an office may be the only cute addition needed in the room. However, you can also create an entire theme around the design on the wall.

    Sponge Paint Designs

    • Use sponge-painted animals, hearts, flowers, ice cream cones and other youthful designs to dress up a bathroom wall, kid's room or bedroom. Feature various designs in one room, or stick with one or two main designs that go well together. A variety of animal sponge-painted shapes can work well together, while combinations of hearts and flowers blend nicely in the same room. Create the designs on one main wall, design a border or stamp these impressions in random spots all throughout the room.
