Wall Coloring That Will Go With Eggplant Accents

Purples

• First on the list of colors to consider for your walls are the purple family. Associated with wisdom, love and kindness, shades of lavender, lilac, light purple and even the rich dark eggplant itself are options. The darker the color, the smaller and cozier a room will feel. A very light lavender can brighten a room immensely. Find a variety of shades at paint stores and design centers, and take swatches home to compare with your accents. Give some thought to the type of mood you want to create in your room before applying any paint color.

Blues and Greens

• In a garden, the actual eggplant harmonizes with the green leaves and blue skies. Look to light sage or sea green, or get brave with olive and hunter. Many members of the blue family can enhance the drama of eggplant. Merge blues and greens and look toward teal, too.

Cream and White

• Often a safe bet, cream, white and even ivory work well with most accents and furnishings. The room will feel spacious, too. Yellow, which is purple's complement, is the ideal shade to work well with eggplant.

• An artful approach to your walls derives from combining various colors, paint and materials. Wallpapers with eggplant-purple designs can be added at the top of a wall or cover one wall of a room.
