Brown & Blue Painting Ideas for Bedrooms

Painting a bedroom in blue and brown may not initially seem the wisest choice. But if you step back and imagine some variations on how these two colors can be combined, you will begin to see that you can create several types of bedrooms. With the colors of blue and brown, you can make a bedroom unique and stylish.
  1. Boy's Room

    • A boy's bedroom should reflect simplicity and masculinity. You could paint one wall sky blue and the next wall brown until each wall abuts a wall of a different color. This would give the room contrast without girly accessorizing with pictures, wall hooks or other frilly adornments. Put a bulletin board with the frame painted blue on one of the brown walls and a mirror with its frame painted brown on a blue wall. Add a brown and blue bedspread and brown mini-blinds and you have the makings of an up-to-date boy's room.

    Girl's Room

    • Paint a girl's room in a light-blue color. Paint the floorboards and ceiling brown. Add swag curtains and a matching bed comforter in a lively blue and brown print. Lamps should be brown with brown shades and furniture should be in brown wood. Paste fluorescent stars at random on the ceiling, and you will have created an unusual girl's bedroom.

    Master Bedroom

    • Paint the top half of each wall light blue and the bottom half brown. At the line where the colors meet and at floorboards, install molding in the same color as the furniture. Paint the ceiling light blue. Add a blue and brown print bedspread and curtains in the same print fabric. Frame pictures and mirrors in gold and add gold light fixtures. You will end up with an elegant and dramatically beautiful master bedroom.

    Guest Room

    • Paint the walls light blue and the floorboards and ceiling brown. Buy a brown bedspread and light blue sheets. Fold the sheets back over the bedspread to show the contrast in colors. Add several pillows, half in light blue and half in brown. Curtains should be floor-length with brown cotton on the outside and an airy, light-blue inner runner. Frame pictures in light gray and add lamps in brown with ivory shades. When finished, you will have a stylish and inviting guest room.
