Protect areas and furniture from paint with painter's tape and drop cloths.
Stir the paint with a stirring stick.
Paint the edges of the wall with a paintbrush.
Place the roller screen into a 5-gallon bucket, and attach it the sides. Pour the paint in the bucket if it is not already.
Dip the textured roller cover 1/2 inch into the paint. Roll it against the screen to remove the excess. Repeat the process five more times to fill the roller with paint.
Apply the paint to the wall with the textured roller using long strokes and light pressure. Start near the bottom of the wall and move upward at an angle. Move the roller over three quarters of the roller width, then move back down toward the floor.
Repeat the process until the paint coverage begins to lighten up.
Dip the textured roller brush again. This time dip the roller and roll it against the screen only twice.
Paint over the entire area you've painted to blend the paint with light pressure. Don't resaturate the roller for this step. Notice that the texture begins to form in the paint applied to the wall.
Allow the first coat to dry, then apply a second coat of paint with the textured roller.
