Determine the best theme for the room. Look to your favorite details from nature and consider who will use the room most often and for what. For example, a child's bedroom, nursery or playroom might include insects, flowers or farm animals. A family area or public room might include flowers, a country garden theme, a forest theme or a beach theme.
Position the furniture so it doesn't block a view of the clouds, if possible. Tie the furnishings in with the painted mural by choosing pieces in white, blue or a combination of colors that complement the mural. A white bed set or white wicker furniture with brightly colored cushions would fit in with the nature look. Glass tables will prevent the space from feeling too closed in.
Add nature-inspired textiles throughout the room. The curtains might include more cloud images or themed images, such as a beach scene or butterflies, that complement the theme of the room. Novelty throw pillows in the shape of flowers, farm animals, space shuttles or insects are another option.
Hang framed pictures, posters or artwork on the walls that complement the theme of the room if you want wall art and it won't interfere with the mural. Alternatively, put up peel-and-stick wall decals that include images of planets, the sun, the moon, flowers, animals, space shuttles, airplanes or other images that complement the room.
Accessorize the room with hanging mobiles, flower arrangements, lamps and novelty items that complement the theme of the room. For example, a child's room with a flower garden theme could include flower-shaped knobs on the dresser. Add glow-in-the-dark stars along the top of the walls and the ceiling for a nighttime sky or add nightlights that look like fireflies or the moon.
