Instructions

    • 1

Saturate a soft cloth carefully with isopropyl alcohol and wipe the entire surface of the doorknob with the moist cloth to thoroughly clean it. Allow the doorknob to dry before proceeding.

    • 2

Load a 1-inch flat paintbrush with the enamel paint of your choice and apply the paint in a thin and even layer to coat the doorknob completely with a base coat of paint. Allow the paint to dry before proceeding.

    • 3

Add a design over the base coat, if you wish. For example, you could use a 1/4-inch paintbrush to apply a yellow or pink daisy flower in the center of the doorknob, or you could paint a green or black swirl design around the outer edge of the doorknob with the smaller paintbrush. Allow the paint to dry.

Cover the surrounding area with pieces of newspaper or cardboard to prevent overspray. Spray the painted doorknob lightly with clear lacquer spray to add a protective layer. Allow the lacquer to dry and apply one or two additional coats to finish painting the porcelain doorknob.
