Painting Over Uneven Paint

Whether you've made the mistake yourself or you inherited it upon moving into a new home, an uneven paint job with colors that run into each other looks just plain sloppy. Painting over those uneven lines will take a bit of painstaking work and some technique, but it's much more preferable than starting over with a brand new paint job, and it can be done with basic painting tools and a little bit of time.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply strips of painter's tape to the edges of the painted sides so you can paint the space in between the two colors.

    • 2

Repaint the area using a roller and the paint color you want for the space.

    • 3

Use a tiny brush to paint over small specks or spots for mostly even paint jobs.

    • 4

Apply strips of painter's tape to the edge of just one color if you don't want a space in between the colors. Paint the edges of the other color, let it dry, and then repeat for the first color.
