Cute Way to Paint a Boys Room Like a Fire Fighter

Boys love firefighters. Whenever they hear the sirens or see a fire truck, their interest is piqued. A boy's room is his fortress and if he's interested in firefighters, you can come up with some good ideas to paint the room in a fireman theme. Using vibrant colors, especially red, can make his room the envy of other boys in the neighborhood. You'll need some art skills, but perfection isn't the most important thing, so have fun with it and involve your boy as much as possible in the process.

Instructions

Paint a fire truck on one wall of the boy's bedroom. Use a picture of a fire truck as your guide and use a pencil to draw the fire truck so that mistakes can be erased and you can adjust the scale as needed. Draw the main body of the truck and add the ladder, firemen and wheels after you've finished the main truck body. Draw the road below as well as the sky in the background.

Draw a fireman climbing a ladder of a building. Paint the ladder gray or white and include some flames coming out one of the building's windows with red and orange paint. Include a fireman with all of his gear including his fire suit and helmet. Ask the boy to provide you with pictures and have him write a story about the fire to make the project more exciting. Include the hose as well as water coming out of it for some realism.

Draw a fire station on the wall and include the fire truck and the firemen hanging out at the station. Include the bricks as well as the front door and sign. Paint a sign with your boy's name included or have him name the station himself. Paint the requisite fire dog, a dalmatian, and try to get the fire pole in the mural as well. Paint the alarm bells and have the firemen all dressed differently, some in uniforms and some in fire retardant outfits for versatility. Research the clothing and station setup for realism and involve your boy in the process.

Paint the various types of uniforms firemen wear while on the job. Paint their station clothes using yellows, black and red, Hazmat suits and officer garb using dark blue or black on the wall with a few facts about each uniform. Help your boy research each type of uniform and have him write the facts out on the wall. This will help him learn about firefighting and fire safety gear.

Draw a giant firefighter helmet on one wall, a fire hydrant one another and a fire truck on the third wall. Draw each using a pencil, then paint them with the appropriate colors, using painter's tape for sharp lines. Allow the paint to dry. Include a hose coming out of the fire hydrant that weaves around the room. Paint water coming out of the hose shaped like the boy's name.
