Remove the doors from the cabinets using a screwdriver. Empty and remove the drawers. Remove any handles and set them aside.
Lay a tarp on the ground, outdoors, if possible. Place all the cabinet doors and drawers on the tarp.
Wipe the cabinet box and the doors and drawers with a soft cloth wet with mineral spirits. Allow the cabinets to dry.
Wrap a piece of 400-grit sandpaper around a sanding block and sand both the cabinet box and the doors and drawers. Wipe the sanded parts with a damp microfiber cloth.
Apply painter's tape around the edges of the cabinet box to protect the wall, counter and appliances.
Pour stirred latex primer into a roller pan. Apply the primer to the cabinet box, doors and drawer fronts with a foam roller. After an hour, flip the doors over and paint the other sides. Allow the primer to dry for two hours, or as directed.
Mix sand-textured paint well. Pour the paint into a roller pan and coat a 3/8-inch nap roller. Apply the textured paint to the cabinet box, doors and drawers. After both sides of the doors are painted, allow the paint to dry for one hour, or as directed by the manufacturer.
Apply a second coat of sand-textured paint to the cabinet parts. Allow the paint to dry overnight.
Replace the handles on the doors and drawers. Screw the doors back into place and slide the drawers into their slots.
