Instructions

    • 1

Assess the outer surface of your crock pot to determine what paint product to use to decorate it. For example, the crock pot may have a plastic or a metal exterior. Choose a spray paint that will adhere to the crock pot surface.

    • 2

Wash the outside of the crock pot with dishwashing detergent. Thoroughly rub a cleaning cloth over the surface of the crock pot. Rinse away the soap from the crock pot and dry the crock pot with a towel.

    • 3

Apply painter’s tape over the handles of the crock pot to prevent paint from covering the handles. Cover the feet of the crock pot and the control area with tape also. Wrap a plastic bag around the cord and tape it to hold it. Remove the lid and tape a paper plate over the top of the crock pot to keep paint from the inside of the appliance.

    • 4

Place the crock pot on a plastic tarp to protect surrounding surfaces from overspray.

    • 5

Shake the spray paint vigorously for at least three minutes. Hold the can about 12 inches away from the crock pot and spray the outer surface evenly. Move the spray can slowly along the crock pot surface to cover it evenly.

    • 6

Allow the paint to dry for about 30 minutes and apply a second coat of paint. Allow the paint to dry for about 24 hours.

    • 7

Remove the tape, the paper plate and the plastic from the crock pot.
